Getting Around

The closest airport is Florence, which is just over an hour’s drive from the venue, we would definitely recommend hiring a car so you can see some of the beautiful areas of Tuscany while you are here, it will make it easier for you to get around.

The car hire area is accessible via a free shuttle bus from outside the airport and takes around 4 minutes to get to, we usually arrive and secure a car with ease without a booking, but you can also pre-book this.

You will need your driving licence and a credit/debit card depending on which company you choose, we usually use Avis and get a good rate.

Accomodation

We will be hosting a welcome party the night before at Terrazza del Chiostro in the historic Tuscan town of Pienza, so we have pre-booked accommodation in and around this area for all our guests!

Pienza is only around a 10-15 minute drive from our wedding venue, and we will be organising shuttles to Borgo Sant’Ambrogio on the wedding day and pool party, returning to Pienza at the end of each event.

We have only secured a certain number of rooms at each hotel so they will go on a first-come, first-served basis.

To book a room at the accommodation we have secured, please email Sophie with your preference at zappieverafter@gmail.com and she can organise this for you.

Food & Drink Recommendations

There are so many beautiful places to visit nearby, if you have time or are staying for a few days on either side of the wedding we recommend visiting Montepulciano and Montalcino which are both close by.

We would recommend having lunch at Podere Il Casale, located in Pienza they offer a unique farm-to-table experience as well as some incredible tastings of local cheeses, meats and of course.. wine!

For Apertivo we would recommend visiting E Lucevan Le Stelle, it is a lovely little wine bar located in Montepulciano

Lastly, for dinner, Poggio Alla Sala, also located in Montepulciano and just a short walk away from the wine bar, ask for a seat on the terrace for beautiful views and incredible food!
